A year in the life of our Miss Riley

on November 8, 2014

Is it worry, or is it paranoia?

Last night, there was another sleep-poo incident.

This morning, Riley barked for her food, but then didn’t finish it. She did eat it when presented with it again about an hour later.

I just can’t help but worry when something like this happens. All I can think of is when Xander started refusing food that the slightest little sign of it in Riley sets me off.

Then later today, I found a tick on her. It’s the second we’ve found one on her in as many weeks. I got it off clean, but it drives me crazy — she only goes out to do her business these days, so where the hell is she picking them up?

She did eat dinner tonight, though her excitement, while palpable, was not up to normal levels.

Old lady dog things are leading to sleepless nights for old lady dog caretakers.

It is so hard watching our beloved friends age. Been there…doing that too. Always a worry.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Ticks drive me crazy, but if you pulled it off clean then I wouldn’t worry. Sometimes old dogs just have bad days, like the rest of us.
