A year in the life of our Miss Riley

The Face

on August 25, 2014

Just because there are only certain types of people food we allow Miss Riley to have, that doesn’t stop her from trying to cadge others from us. When she was a puppy, she stole cinnamon toast right off my plate. She managed to work open the tin foil my grandmother wrapped my birthday cake in and licked off all the frosting (and was flying all night!). She swiped boneless chicken breasts out of my husband’s casserole, licked off all the topping, and left the chicken on the kitchen floor.

Now, she just gives us The Face. Case in point: I sat on the couch today with some crackers, and she just stood there, staring at me, willing me to hand some over. I think she fancies herself a hypnotist.

You know you want to give me a Goldfish cracker, human
